On Thursday, June 15, 2023, the Black Meteors will engage in an international friendly against the Pharaohs of Egypt at the Alexandria Stadium.

Currently, the National U23 team is in Egypt for a training camp in preparation for their participation in the 2023 TotalEnergies U23 African Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from June 24 to July 8, 2023.

Both Ghana and Egypt, the defending African U23 Champions, view this match as a crucial part of their tournament preparations.

In the upcoming tournament, the Pharaohs have been placed in Group A alongside Mali, Gabon, and Niger, while Ghana finds itself in Group B with hosts Morocco, Guinea, and Congo.

To ensure the players receive adequate preparation before departing for the tournament in Morocco, the Ghana Football Association is diligently working to secure one more match for the team.

Currently, Coach Ibrahim Tanko's camp is almost complete, with Ernest Nuamah and Kamaldeen Sulemana set to join the team in Egypt after their involvement in the Black Stars' AFCON qualifier against Madagascar on June 18.
