Fred Pappoe, a former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, has expressed satisfaction with the Black Stars recent triumph in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana recorded two consecutive victories in the qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar. The Black Stars thrashed Chad 5-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium before using Madagascar as 'chopping sticks' (3-0) in the 5th and 6th rounds of matches in the qualifying campaign.

The win against Chad and Madagascar helped Ghana to extend their lead at the top of Group I to 15 points, three above second-placed Comoros.

“We are all happy and we will urge them to continue working hard. We assume everything is working well for us from the results we are getting so we hope it continues like that for us. The team must maintain momentum after a successful international break this time,” Pappoe stated.

Ghana will be hoping to maintain the positive progress in the remaining World Cup qualifying matches slated to come off in September with decisive hurdles against Chad and Mali before facing Central African Republic and Comoros.
