Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has strongly criticised the Black Stars following their 2-1 friendly defeat to Germany.

Speaking at the launch of the Democracy Cup, Mr Bagbin questioned the team’s performance and raised concerns about its direction.

“This cannot be Ghana. What happened yesterday (Monday) is not coaching,” he said, pointing to what he described as a worrying decline under former head coach Otto Addo.

Addo was later dismissed by the Ghana Football Association after the defeat in Stuttgart, leaving the national team searching for a new coach just 71 days before the 2026 World Cup.

The Speaker’s comments reflect growing frustration over the Black Stars’ inconsistent results and tactical struggles in recent matches.

With the tournament approaching, Ghana now faces a crucial period of rebuilding as they look to improve performances and regain confidence ahead of football’s biggest tournament.
