Head coach of King Faisal FC, Prince Acheampong, popularly known as Sabuto, has been confirmed dead after battling an ailment.

Acheampong was appointed by the Division One League outfit on January 5, 2025, as a replacement for Barnabas Awuni, who was sacked following the club's poor start in the ongoing 2024/25 season's campaign.

According to Kickgh.com sources, the 52-year-old tactician has been battling illness and was hospitalized for the past three weeks and passed away on Tuesday afternoon.

Famously referred to as 'Tactical Sabuto,' he's garnered a wealth of experience in coaching and has handled several clubs, including being assigned as assistant coach of Asante Kotoko during the 2010/11 season. He also coached Dunkwa United and Fabulous Ladies FC.

He guided Opoku Ware School (OWASS) to a third-place finish in the 2024 Ashanti Regional Inter-School and Colleges boys soccer competition.

Acheampong, who holds a CAF License A certificate, won the Ashanti Regional Inter-School Competition from 2016 to 2018 with T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS (T.I. AMASS).
