The Parliament of Ghana has approved Member of Parliament (MP) for Buem, Kofi Iddie Adams as minister for Sports and Recreation.

The decision followed a rigorous debate and voting process on the floor of the House, reflecting the legislature’s commitment to thorough scrutiny of executive appointments.

Adams, a former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), brings extensive experience to the role, with a mandate to revitalize the sports sector and promote recreational activities nationwide.

He replaces Mustapha Ussif, who served as Minister of Youth and Sports from 2021 to 2024 under the Nana Akufo-Addo administration.

With a wealth of experience in both education and politics, Adams brings a diverse skill set to the role.

He began his career as a tutor at Adisadel College and later served as the Spokesperson and Director of Public Affairs for former President Jerry John Rawlings.
