Ghanaian champions, Medeama SC will leave the shores of the country today en route to Cairo ahead of their game against giants Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League over the weekend.

The Mauves and Yellows went through four matches in the two qualifying round but managed to defy all odds to cruise into the money zone for the first time ever.

They have been paired in Group D alongside Al Ahly, Algeria's CR Belouizdad and Young Africans from Tanzania.

The Ghanaian conquerors will kickstart their campaign with a visit to grand masters Al Ahly in what promised to a herculean clash slated for this weekend.

Medeama SC will depart by close of today as they hope for early arrival and for quick acclimatization to the pitch, weather and everything in order to make them ready and poised for the game.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, at the Al Salam Stadium at 19:00GMT.
