Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak got exempted from clubs that will play each other in the first preliminary round of the 2022/23 CAF Confederations Cup.

However, the first round draw was held earlier today at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football earlier today in Cairo.

 
The 2004 champions will now face the winner of the game between AS Douanes (Senegal) and ASR Bamako (Mali) in the second preliminary round.
 
The date for the middle round ties will be held from 7-9th October and 14-16th October, 2022 in a the usual home and away form.  
 
The winner of this round, will get into the final playoffs where they can subsequently cruise into the group stages.
 
Hearts of Oak had the spot to partake in the continent's second highest club football competition after beating Bechem United to the FA Cup trophy last season and will hope to make it into the money zone this time.
