Reuben Senyo has charged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with dissolving the Black Stars following their uninspired outing in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Senyo's comments twig from Ghana's 2-0 loss to Sudan on Tuesday at the Martyrs February Stadium in Benghazi, Libya.

A disastrous campaign for Ghana took another turn for the worse soon after half-time as Sudan notched twice within three minutes through Ahmed Mohamed and Abdelrahman.

Ghana are in serious trouble as they trail second-placed Sudan by five points in Group F, and still have to visit in-form Angola, who were 2024 AFCON quarter-finalists.

Senyo, in an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM, championed the dissolution of the Black Stars.

“It is about time we dissolve the Black Stars because there is nothing we can get from this crop of players. We have to turn our attention to the local league because we had players from the Ghana Premier League who performed better for the national team years back. The likes of Dan Quaye, Charles Taylor, Shilla Illiasu, Habib Mohammed and others played for the Black Stars while playing in Ghana,” he said.
