Former Ghana international, John Paintsil has furiously blasted the Ghana FA for neglecting Christian Atsu from the Black Stars at some point even when he hasn't announced his retirement from the senior national team.
Atsu, was a victim of the recent earthquake that occured at his playing-base Turkey and went to rubbles but was pronounced found and dead last Saturday- a news which really caused a huge heartbreak in his native.
After his sudden and painful demise, there has been lots of tributes from the football world to him and his family, including one from the Ghana Football Association.
Speaking in a latest interview, the former Black Stars defender has queried the GFA on why they shunned calling the speedster to the national team at some point and added they shouldn't pretend like they love him. He told Original FM in Accra;
"You snubbed him and kicked him out of your Black Stars at age 31. Atsu has been struggling to get a permanent stay in a club since the snub."
“We all know the Value & Respect your club gives you when you play for your Nation."
“Don't pretend you loved him because you don’t at all,” he concluded.
The mortal remains of Christian Atsu arrived in Ghana last Sunday night, with the Ghana's Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia having already promised to give him a befitting burial.
