The idea is to buy the club and relocate to Obuasi where it will be renamed Goldfields FC and will compete in Zone II of the Access Bank Division One League next season

According to exclusive reports from a reliable source, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong famously known as 'Champion' has offered an amount of Ghc700,000 to purchase Ebony FC but had his offer turned down.
The management of the Bantama-based club have strongly denied the initial reports of selling the club and added they will only listen to bids that are Ghc2million and beyond
