Samartex assistant captain Ebenezer Acquah says he's very excited, having helped his side to scoop a double in the year 2024.
Acquah set the Ghana Premier League champions on their way to a double trophy sweeping at the TNA Stadium in the Champion of Champions after stunning FA Cup winners Nsoatreman 1-0 on Saturday.
Emmanuel Mamah's stunner was the deal breaker which won the title for the Timber Giants.
“I’m very happy. Being assistant captain of the club and winning two trophies within a year is refreshing. This will motivate us going forward. Our coach has been instrumental in our success, so credit to him. He always wants not to concede during matches and that is helping us a lot” he said.
The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League champions showed superiority - eliminating Victoria United in their maiden CAF Champions League campaign.
Samartex will play host to Raja Club Athletic on Friday, September 13 at the Accra Sports Stadium before jetting to Morocco for the return leg on September 20.
