In a stunning twist that has rocked Tarkwa to its core, Medeama SC have officially parted ways with club legend Kwasi Donsu, ending a remarkable ten-year love affair that etched his name into Ghanaian football folklore.

The midfield maestro, who joined the Yellow and Mauves in 2014, leaves behind a legacy steeped in passion, and unforgettable moments.

From long-range screamers to calm leadership in the dressing room as the clubs long serving captain, Donsu wasn’t just a player – he was the heartbeat of Medeama.

Club reports indicate that the decision was mutual. Donsu, now 29, leaves with one Ghana Premier League title, two FA Cup titles under his belt (2015 and 2023), a captain's armband worn with pride, and over 200 appearances in the famed yellow kit.

"Medeama SC and club legend Kwasi Donsu have mutually agreed to part ways. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kwasi for his immense contributions, dedication, and the unforgettable memories created during his time with the club," Medeama posted on their official X handle. "Thank you, Kwasi, once a Mauve and Yellow, always a Mauve and Yellow."

Our archives recall that explosive 2015 season where he netted 15 goals from midfield, outshining strikers and shocking the Ghana Premier League.

While whispers of him making a surprise Hearts or Kotoko switch had lingered in the corridors, the club confirmed he is now a free agent – with interest already brewing from both local and international clubs.
