The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed a three-month ban on Elmina Sharks FC bankroller, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom for gross misconduct during a Division One League match.

The former flagbearer of the Progressive People's Party (PPP) was also fined 10,000 Ghana Cedis ($644.75) and suspended for three months for misconducting himself in Elmina Sharks’ league tie against Swedru All Blacks on February 16, 2025.

According to the statement released by the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee, Dr. Ndoum was found guilty of “interfering the match’s progress inciting players against match officials, and making social media comments that provoked violence and hatred towards referees.”

The match between Elmina Sharks and All Blacks had multiple stoppages including one that lasted 27 minutes and clashes involving players and fans.

In the aftermath of the game, Dr. Ndoum stated on his Facebook page that the GFA was clueless and the association’s actions were ridiculous.

Nduom has been warned by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA to desist from such unsportsmanlike behavior to avoid severe sanctions.
