Emmanuel Yeboah, the striker for the Black Meteors, has revealed his motivation to make Asamoah Gyan proud after the legendary Ghanaian footballer tweeted about him prior to the AFCON U23 tournament in Morocco.

Although Ghana did not secure a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games, Yeboah emerged as a shining star for the Black Meteors.

The tall forward, affectionately known as "99 ideas," finished as the joint top scorer alongside Morocco captain Abdessamad Ezzalzouli before their elimination from the tournament.

Playing for CFR Cluj, Yeboah showcased his skills by scoring three goals and providing an assist in three games.

"Before we started the tournament, our legend Asamoah Gyan tweeted that I should be monitored at the tournament so before going into the games, I always though I had to fulfill Gyan's comments. So I said to myself at least I had to score and provide an assist in a game," he told Saddick Adams TV.

"It's not everyone that gets the attention of a legend like Asamoah Gyan so after seeing that tweet, I felt so inspired. So I felt obligated to make him proud," he added.

Yeboah's determination to fulfill Gyan's comments demonstrates the impact and influence that a legendary figure's support can have on young players. Despite Ghana's overall outcome in the tournament, Yeboah's performances were notable, and he strived to meet the expectations set by a respected figure like Gyan.
