James Kwesi Appiah has responded to reports linking him to the position of Sudan's national team manager.

Appiah, at 63, has not yet signed a contract for the role, but negotiations are ongoing. He has refrained from prominent coaching roles since his tenure as Ghana's head coach in 2020 and is currently involved with Asante Kotoko's interim management committee.

Appiah mentioned that discussions with the Sudan Football Association are underway, pending approval from Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

“There are currently talks with them (Sudan FA) but I am waiting for the approval and release of Otumfour Osei Tuu II” , James Kwesi Appiah told Ghanasportspage.com on Wednesday.

It's clear that he is interested in the Sudan national team role, and once he receives Asantehene's blessing, he intends to finalize the contract.

Appiah's reputable coaching career and prior experience with Al Khartoum make him an appealing choice for the Sudan FA.
