Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has declared his team’s unwavering determination to win the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup, insisting they will leave everything on the pitch to beat Golden Kick in the final.
The highly anticipated showdown is set for June 15, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium, with Kotoko aiming to secure their first FA Cup title since 2017.
Kotoko booked their place in the final after edging Berekum Chelsea 1-0 in a tense semifinal clash at the TNA Stadium. Their opponents, Division One side Golden Kick, stunned Attram De Visser with a 3-1 win to reach their first-ever FA Cup final.
Despite the lower-tier status of their opponents, Zito remains focused and refuses to underestimate the challenge ahead.
“You can’t underrate any club until you get what you want,” he told reporters. “I don’t care whether they are in Division One or not — I don’t care. I am going there for the cup. Whoever comes to the final, I am going to deal with it, I am going to fight it, and I will make sure we beat them and take the cup.”
Zito, who previously led Golden Kick to Division One promotion before taking charge at Kotoko, is now just one win away from delivering silverware to the Porcupine Warriors.
Before turning their full attention to the FA Cup final, Kotoko will face Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League on May 18 as they seek to finish the domestic season strongly.
