Former Black Stars goalie and current goalkeeper’s coach, Fatawu Dauda has spoken highly of Hearts of Oak captain Benjamin Asare for his consistent performance and feels his high level of discipline has brought him this far.

Asare, isn’t only showing his quality for his club but at national level as well having never looked back since his debut invite in March 2025 and has been the first choice since.

Despite many doubts on his starting status among some Ghanaian football faithful, the 33-year-old put up a five-star display in the Super-Clash to justify his position and really won lots of hearts after that display.

Speaking on 3Sports, the ex- AshantiGold SC and Orlando Pirates goalie says Asare has really elevated his game and described as a very discipline person and a fast learner.

"He’s doing well for himself and for his club. Being a captain, a leader, and then a commander, you know, it’s not easy. For that position, definitely, you know, you need to be criticised if things are not going well.

That’s how it should be. But for now, I think he’s staying focused because it’s someone who will listen. He talked to me, listening. So he’s a fast learner; he’s coachable. So I’m happy for him. He’s doing well for his club and for himself.”

Benjamin Asare is once again expected to make coach Otto Addo’s squad for the games against Austria and Germany in the March international window.
