Ghanaian lower-division side, King Faisal Football Club, has officially signed former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko forward Ollenu Ashitey as they gear up for the upcoming National Division One League season.

The Kumasi-based club announced the acquisition on Thursday, September 19, highlighting Ashitey’s experience and potential to boost their attacking options.

The former Ghana Premier League star, who also had a stint with Eleven Wonders, is expected to play a pivotal role in King Faisal’s push for promotion.

In an official statement, the club expressed its excitement over the signing: "We are delighted to announce the signing of Ollenu Ashitey, who joins us from Ghana Immigration FC! The experienced attacker has previously featured for Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, and Eleven Wonders."

Ashitey’s arrival is part of King Faisal's broader strategy to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for a spot in the Ghana Premier League.

The club has also brought in other notable players, including Kingsley Brefo and Francis Yeboah, as they aim to strengthen their squad for the 2024/25 season.
