The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed plans to host a testimonial match in honour of legendary striker Asamoah Gyan, celebrating the remarkable career of Ghana’s all-time top scorer and one of Africa’s most iconic football stars.
The event will serve as a grand farewell to a player whose name became synonymous with Black Stars excellence, record-breaking goals, and unforgettable moments on the international stage.
Gyan, who netted 51 goals in 109 appearances for Ghana, represented the nation at three FIFA World Cups and multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. His heroics at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where Ghana reached the quarterfinals, remain etched in football history.
The testimonial will feature a blend of former teammates, international stars, and football icons who shared the pitch with Gyan during his storied career.
Details regarding the venue, date, and guest players are expected to be announced soon, as the GFA collaborates closely with Gyan’s team to ensure a fitting tribute to one of Africa’s most celebrated forwards.
