Lower division clubs will discover their opponents for the 2026/27 MTN FA Cup preliminary round when the draw is conducted on Tuesday, October 13.
The event will take place at the GFA Headquarters in Accra, with proceedings expected to commence at 11:00am as the competition gets underway.
Teams from Ghana’s lower divisions will feature in this opening stage, all hoping to progress to the round of 64 and keep their ambitions of winning the prestigious cup alive.
The preliminary round will provide the first opportunity for these clubs to make their mark in the competition before the arrival of the Ghana Premier League sides.
Premier League clubs have been exempted from the preliminary stage and will join the competition from the round of 64, increasing the possibility of bigger ties as the tournament progresses.
The GFA is expected to release the confirmed fixtures and full preliminary-round schedule immediately after the draw, setting the teams on the path towards the 2026/27 MTN FA Cup final.
