Hearts of Oak fought from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw against Bibiani GoldStars - who serged on to win 5-4 via penalties in a very fascinating encounter at the Legon Stadium. 

Both teams got off to a good start with the ‘Phobians’ slightly the dominant side but it was the Miners that earned themselves a penalty in the 17th minute after Adjetey was fouled in the box by Raphael Amponsah. 

Samuel Atta Kumi once again elected himself for the kick and converted neatly to put GoldStars ahead and also get his second of the competition. 

In the 35th minute, the champions scored again to double their lead courtesy Justice Arthur who struck from close range after a poor save from Benjamin Asare. 

Hearts of Oak pulled one back on the stroke of half-time through George Paaku who struck into the roof of the post after a great work down the right hand side by Martin Karikari. 

Back from recess, the Rainbow Club bounced back on a blistering note and secured the precious equalizer in just three minutes through Hussein Mohammed who struck into the net from Osei Asibey’s cross. 

The two sides from then took the game at each other strongly but there weee no goal produced as it finished 2-2 in regulation time. Bibiani GoldStars subsequently won 5-4 during penalty shootouts to pick two points from the game while Hearts of Oak earned a point

Hearts of Oak are still winless in regulation time in the competition as they sit in second position with 4 points and will face arch rivals Asante Kotoko in their final game on Sunday, August 24.

GoldStars are now leading the Top 4 log with 5 points and now stand a chance of winning and will have to go through Heart of Lions in their last game.
