GHALCA Top 4: Bibiani GoldStars win over Heart of Lions via penalty shootout to brighten trophy winning chances

Bibiani GoldStars have once again won 4-3 via penalty shootout after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Heart of Lions in the final round of matches at the University of Ghana Stadium. 

The Lions made a good start to the game and had the game under their control in terms of possession but the Miners however were a bit jittery but looked very resolute in defense. 

The game was really a very aggressive one too with both teams making substitutions before the end of the half which really looked unfamiliar in the game. 

In the 37th minute, Ali Fawzi finally found the back of the bet to put Heart of Lions in the lead. Just what they kept on hunting for 

Back from recess, both teams looked very purposeful this time and began to play ambitiously with GoldStars stepping up their game looking a very even exchange. 

Having held onto their lead till the final minutes, Sampson Eduku scored to snatch the precious equalizer and it finished 1-1 in regulation time. 

Bibiani GoldStars subsequently won 4-3 via penalty shootouts to extend their points to seven, and now stand a huge chance of winning the competition. 

Heart of Lions despite the defeat have extended their points to four and will definitely use this as preparations towards the upcoming season.
