The second FIFA World Ranking of the year was released earlier this morning and sadly Ghana has dropped again following their ill performances in recent times.

The FIFA World Rankings which is sponsored by Coca Cola, is conducted with points which are awarded mainly based on the performances of the various national teams under FIFA being it in competitive or friendly fixtures.

After another disappointing Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Cote D'Ivoire early this year where they exited from the group phase, Ghana dropped to 67th position worldwide.

The four-time African champions recently failed to grind a win in their last two matches, having lost to sworn rivals Nigeria and drawn against Uganda all in friendlies in Marrakech, Morocco.

This has seen them drop another position as they are currently placed on the 68th position on the world rankings, and are 14th on the continent, with 1358.77 points, and are now behind countries like Cape Verde, Albania, UAE and others.

Worldwide, current world champions Argentina maintain top-spot, followed by France, Belgium, England and Brazil in the list of the top five.

In Africa, the Atlas Lions of Morocco remain at the summit alongside Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt and current champions Cote D'Ivoire, who are currently the first five.

The Black Stars will regroup in June for crucial games against Mali and Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
