Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr. Tony Aubynn says the Black Stars suffering an elimination from the 2022 World Cup is nothing strange
Aubynn shared his thoughts on Ghana's campaign at the 2022 World Cup in an interview with Akoma FM and insisted existing the group stages with former champions like Germany and Uruguay is normal in football.
The Black Stars exited the ongoing mundial in Qatar after losing 2-0 in their last group H game against Uruguay.
“We are out of the World Cup because its football. Football is an unpredictable game, our players were determined to achieve the set target, likewise other teams were also determined,” Dr. Tony Aubynn told Kumasi-based radio station Akoma FM
“On the day, things didn't go the way we wanted and that is football for you. But our exit is not anything strange, much as it is a painful experience for all Ghanaians, Germany and Uruguay who are once champions of the competition all exited with us.”
Following the elimination, Ghana coach Otto Addo has resigned from his position and a new head coach is expected to be announced in the coming months.
