The 1978 Africa Cup of Nations winner believes the four-time African champions struggle is down to spiritual manipulation and such calamity ought to be revoked as a matter of urgency
Ghana great Mohammed Polo has said that the national football team is being hunted spiritually and something must be done to overcome the adversity that has bedevilled the nation for more than four decades.
With the Black Stars failing to savour a silverware since 1982 on the international stage, the former Hearts of Oak manager believes the national team is under a curse and such spiritual spell has to be rectified by all and sundry across the nation.
Speaking in an interview following Ghana's back-to-back defeats to lvory Coast and The Gambia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign, the 'Dribbling Magician' as affectionately called by fans during his active playing days, has said the current problems of the Black Stars team transcend beyond the Ghana FA president as he strives hard to develop the country's football in the continent.
The Ghana legend told Koforidua-based radio station Swiit FM: "To be frank, Kurt Okraku’s-led administration is striving to develop Ghana football, but things are not going as expected. I think Ghana is being hunted spiritually. There is a problem which must be rectified. “Kurt Okraku is performing; he is not the problem, and I must be honest. I have been in the game since 1972, and I think Ghana football is rich now under Kurt.
