Ghanaian international, Antoine Semenyo has been ruled of next month's 2023 AFCON qualifiers following an unfortunate injury which will see him miss the remainder of the season.

The 23 year old sustained the serious injury in his cameo appearance against Chelsea FC last week in the Premier League- a tie they lost 1-3 at home to Frank Lampard's men.

The lanky forward joined the in the last winter transfer window after a stellar spell with Bristol City and has made 11 appearances since then and netted his debut goal in their 4-1 win over Leeds United. 
 
Bournemouth manager, Gary O'Neil in a pre-match interview confirmed this development that Semenyo's season is over and they hope he cover before the start of next season. 
 
“Antoine [Semenyo] has had surgery so he will be out until next season."
 
“We’re hopeful he gets back and can have a decent little spell with the team before the season starts but it will depend on how quickly he recovers.
 
“Everything went well and we’re hoping he has a speedy recovery because he can be a big help again for us next season.”
 
Antoine Semenyo switched nationality to play for Ghana late last year hence didn't start the qualifiers but has a goal to his belt after scoring the all important winner in the narrow 1-0 win over Angola in Kumasi.
 
Ghana will wrap up the qualifiers when they face Madagascar and Central African Republic with the hopes of finishing as winners of Group E.
