The younger brother of Black Stars legendary midfielder, Sulley Ali Muntari has officially hanged up his boots at the age of 29.

Former Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Ali Muniru has announced his retirement from football to venture into sports agency management.

Muniru, who has been unattached since July, took to his official Instagram account to announce his decision to quit active football.

The Konongo-born was once tipped as his brother, Sulley Ali Muntari's successor at the Black Stars of Ghana following his exploits at CFR Cluj, Steanua Bucharest (now FCSB) in the Romanian top-tier league.

In 2017, Muniru was sacked by Steanua Bucharest after fighting his teammate Florin Tanase. He later joined Tondela, Yeni Malatayspor, Dinamo Minsk and Tambov in Finland.

Muniru made a surprise return to play in the Ghana Premier League with record-title holders, Asante Kotoko during the 2020/21 season but his contract was abrogated mutually due to lack of fitness.

He had his last stint at Belarusian Premier League side FC Minsk where he scored two goals in 21 appearances.

Muniru has now set up a Sports Agency Management called 4FK Agency which has already commenced operations with Mubarak Wakaso and Salim Romeo of Karela United.
