Ghanaian music star King Promise has collaborated with Chelsea to produce an official anthem celebrating the Premier League club’s supporters across Africa.
Titled ‘Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem)’, the song was written by the award-winning artiste and released in September as part of Chelsea’s fan engagement campaign for the 2026/27 season. The anthem will be played at Chelsea matches throughout the campaign.
The project has a strong Ghanaian identity, with the accompanying music video filmed in Accra at the Rent Paid Football Exhibition Tournament and Nungua SDA Park, where King Promise developed his passion for football.
The Rent Paid tournament featured Chelsea supporters from across Ghana, including Team DWP, Team New Media and Amen X Eleven, while also serving as the African launch of Chelsea’s new home kit.
Reflecting on the project, King Promise said returning to Nungua SDA Park was especially meaningful.
“Returning to Nungua SDA Park was very important to me because that is where it all started for me. My love for football, spending time playing with my friends and connecting with community through football games was very special to me.”
Directed by Derrick Arthur, the music video combines scenes from the football tournament with performances by King Promise at the community park where his football journey began.
Chelsea Brand Director Scott Fenton said the collaboration was a perfect fit because of King Promise’s lifelong support for the club.
“King Promise came to us with the idea for the track and, knowing how much Chelsea means to him, it felt like a really natural collaboration.”
“This is about celebrating our fans in Africa and the culture around the club, and showing what Chelsea can mean beyond the 90 minutes.”
King Promise has previously revealed that the anthem forms part of a broader partnership with Chelsea, including a documentary filmed in Ghana, further strengthening the bond between the club and its African fanbase.
