Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has declined to comment on the Black Stars' coaching situation following the departure of head coach Carlos Queiroz.
Queiroz stepped down after Ghana's disappointing start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with the Black Stars suffering defeats to Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia.
His exit has sparked speculation over who will take charge of the national team as Ghana look to revive their faltering qualification campaign.
However, speaking to Joy FM, Adams insisted that decisions regarding the appointment or dismissal of coaches fall outside his responsibility.
“I don't hire coaches, and I don't fire coaches.”
He urged questions about Queiroz's departure to be directed to the appropriate authority.
“You can direct your questions about the firing of the coach to the body that needs to address it.”
The Black Stars are enduring a difficult run, having won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions and failing to record an AFCON qualifying victory since September 2023.
