The Paramount Chief of the Gbese Traditional Area and Adonten of the Ga State, Dr Nii Ayi Bonte II has stated that Accra Great Olympics will never be invited from all future football tournaments which will be organized by the Ga State.
Nii Gbese, known in private Life as Tommy Okai - a former Hearts of Oak guru showed his unhappiness over Oly Dade's declination to honor his invitation to take part in the 2023 Homowo Cup, where they were set to clash with rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak.
"I will never and ever invite Olympics for any football game again because they disrespected me last year by not honoring my invitation," Nii Ayi Bonte said at a press conference.
In recent years Great Olympics has regularly competed against Hearts of Oak in previous editions of the cup match.
Hearts of Oak will now face Hearts of Lions in the 2024 Homowo Cup, which has been slated for Sunday, August 11, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick off at 15:00GMT (3pm).
