True Life FC head coach Mohammed Bashar has lifted the lid on the daring tactical approach that helped his Division Two side stun giants Hearts of Oak in the MTN FA Cup Round of 64.

Speaking to Asempa FM after the historic upset, Bashar disclosed that he deployed an improvised backline made up almost entirely of midfielders.

“I used only one natural defender in Wednesday’s FA Cup game against Hearts of Oak. I converted midfielders to fill all the other roles,” he explained.

Despite the unorthodox setup, True Life delivered a disciplined and organised display, frustrating the Phobians throughout the match before sealing a famous 1-0 victory at Kpobiman.

The shock win has sent ripples through Ghanaian football, with Bashar’s tactical risk earning widespread praise as one of the best tactical masterstrokes of this season’s FA Cup.
