Swedru All Blacks talismanic striker, Rudolf Mensah, has revealed that he began the Access Bank Division One League campaign with a clear and bold mission — to score over 30 goals.
Mensah, who is on the right track to finish the season as the club’s top scorer with an impressive 24 goals in 25 matches, was instrumental in propelling All Blacks to the Ghana Premier League for the first time in 16 years.
Speaking in a post-match interview after their 3-0 win over New Edubiase in the Zone Two decider, the prolific forward confessed that his goal tally, though remarkable, fell short of his personal target.
“For me, my target was to score 30 and over,” Mensah said with a confident grin. “By the grace of God, I have 24 goals and I am leading the goal king chart. I think sometimes you win some, you lose some, sometimes you miss certain chances. We are still on course, it’s left with one game, let’s see what God will give to us.”
Mensah’s goal-scoring prowess has drawn admiration from fans and pundits alike, with many touting him as one of the most lethal finishers in the Division One League. His sharp movement, clinical finishing, and relentless hunger for goals made him a nightmare for defenders in the yet to be concluded campaign.
Despite missing his target by six goals, Mensah remains proud of his contributions and is already looking ahead to making an impact in the Ghana Premier League.
Swedru All Blacks’ return to the Premier League has reignited excitement in the football-mad town, and with Mensah leading the line, fans have every reason to dream big as they intend to make a statement in Ghana’s top tier.
