Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston says he would gladly accept the opportunity to coach the Black Stars if approached by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
A close associate of the former midfielder revealed that Kingston is interested in the vacant position and believes he has built the coaching credentials required to lead the senior national team.
“Who wouldn’t want to coach the Black Stars, especially when they have the credentials? Laryea Kingston has built his credentials in the coaching space, both locally and internationally,” the source said.
Kingston has previously made his intentions clear, stating that representing Ghana as head coach would be a privilege.
“I have a job now, and I am happy with my job for now. I’m a Ghanaian, and I would love to hear that call. There is no better joy than helping your country,” he told Joy Prime in July.
The former Black Stars midfielder also expressed similar interest in 2024 following Chris Hughton's departure, saying:
“Of course, I will accept. I know the level at which I am now.”
Kingston has steadily built his coaching career through roles at Right to Dream, FC Nordsjælland's development system, Ghana's U-17 team, RPS Academies in the United States and Uganda's junior national teams.
The CAF A-qualified coach recently guided Uganda's U-17 side to qualification for the 2026 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, further strengthening his coaching résumé as the GFA continues its search for a new Black Stars head coach.
