Golden Kick head coach Fiifi Parker Hanson has attributed his side’s 2-1 defeat to Asante Kotoko in the 2025 MTN FA Cup final to a lack of experience among his players.

The lower-division side put up a spirited fight at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday but ultimately fell short against the more experienced Porcupine Warriors.

Speaking to Sporty FM after the match, Parker Hanson admitted that his team’s inexperience proved costly in crucial moments.

“I would have defeated Kotoko with experienced players,” he said. “We have immature players. If I had just three of Kotoko's experienced players, I would have beaten them hands down.”

He lamented his side’s inability to make the right decisions under pressure, stressing that their youthful inexperience showed at key moments during the final.

“You saw the immaturity in these boys. Sometimes they need to do the right thing, but because they don't have the experience, they can’t. We really wanted to win the FA Cup and make history,” he added.

Despite the loss, Golden Kick earned plaudits for their remarkable journey to the final, becoming one of the standout stories of this year’s competition.

As FA Cup winners, Asante Kotoko have secured qualification for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, adding continental football to their upcoming campaign.
