The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has expressed his strong support for the Police Ladies as they prepare to face the Army Ladies in the Women's FA Cup final on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

This historic showdown between the two distinguished teams will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium, with the match scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT (4 pm local time).

Ahead of the much-anticipated clash, Dr. Dampare conveyed his confidence in the Police Ladies, encouraging them to rise above their Army counterparts.

Reflecting on the team's previous defeat in the last FA Cup final, he philosophically remarked, "Our defeat in the last FA Cup final would be said to be a failure on our part. But failure too could be viewed as an achievement that needs to be celebrated depending on how you look at it. The number of your failures determines the number of your successes. Based on that past failure, we're going to lift this Cup."

The Women's FA Cup final will serve as the opening match of the upcoming Women's Football Festival’s double-header, which will be held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on June 8.

The Women's League and FA Cup final matches are set to take place on the same day at 16:00 GMT (4 pm) and 19:00 GMT (7 pm) respectively.
