Former assistant coach of the Black Galaxies, Bismark Kobi Mensah, says there is a possibility the Black Stars will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite failing to secure a place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Ghana failed to secure qualification for the Afcon for the first time in 21 years, failing to win a single game in the six matches they played. This outcome has thrown Ghanaians into disbelief as they have concluded that the team will not be unable to qualify for the mundial.
However, Kobi Mensah believes the team can annex qualification to the World Cup if they put their Afcon setback behind them and prepare well by putting in the much-needed work.
"It is possible to qualify for the World Cup. You can never say never, but it comes down to preparations," Mensah told Asempa FM.
In the World Cup qualifier standing, the Black Stars are second in Group I with nine points.
