Captain of the Ghana national team, Jordan Ayew, has urged his teammates to stay focused and believe in their ability as Ghana prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Leicester City forward made the call during an interview with Asempa FM as he stressed that strong preparation and the right mindset will be key for the team on the world stage.

"We need to prepare ourselves and believe," Ayew said. "When we go out there to perform, we must stay focused and give our best."

Ayew’s message comes after an impressive qualifying campaign, where he recorded 14 goal contributions, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists to help Ghana secure a place at the tournament.

His leadership has been important for the team under head coach Otto Addo, as the Black Stars finished top of their qualifying group with 25 points.

Ayew, who has made more than 100 appearances for Ghana, believes the current squad has the quality to compete with the best teams in the world.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team and Panama national football team.
