Ghana Football Association Communications Director Henry Asante Twum says Kim Lars Björkegren is ready to take on the challenge of coaching both the Black Stars and the Black Queens.
Asante Twum revealed that he had spent time with the Swedish coach and was convinced he was prepared to handle the responsibility of leading Ghana’s men’s and women’s senior national teams.
“He loves the challenge. At least, I spent the day with him, and I know he is ready to take it on. He also feels that it is time to test himself,” Asante Twum told TV3.
The renowned journalist also explained that the two teams’ international schedules would allow Björkegren to manage both roles without major fixture clashes.
According to Asante Twum, the Black Stars and Black Meteors will be involved in matches from early November to the middle of the month, while the Black Queens’ fixtures will come at the end of November and extend into the first week of December.
“The women's international window is completely different from the men's international window. While the women are playing, the men are on a break, and when the men resume, the women also have their turn,” he said on TV3’s Sports Station programme.
