King Faisal owner and bankroller Alhaji Karim Grusah has accused the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of creating a culture of intimidation and victimisation that is holding back the development of football in the country.

The vociferous football administration brainy claims clubs are afraid to openly criticise the GFA because they fear facing punishment, including relegation.

He made the comments during an interview on the Onua Maadwo programme on Onua FM on Monday, 5 October 2026.

“Even now Kotoko and Hearts Oak are afraid to speak up because they would be threatened with relegation,” he said.

Grusah also called on Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams to push for changes at the GFA and the Black Stars Management Committee.

He urged the football authorities to resign or the governing body be dissolved before Ghana's next match.

“Let them resign immediately before we play our next match. I am not a prophet but if they resign, Ghana will qualify inshallah. I plead with every Ghanaian to rise up and demonstrate against this FA,” he said.

Grusah believes Ghanaian football has seen little progress in recent years and accused the current administration of promoting selfish interests, nepotism and cronyism.

He also questioned the opportunities given to players who are not linked to influential figures within the football system.

“A player who is not being managed by the leaders of the football association will not get the chance to play for the Black Stars no matter how good the player may be. Where are the Under 17, Under 20, and Under 23 national teams since Kurt Okraku became the GFA president?” he asked.

Grusah has been a long-standing figure in Ghanaian football through King Faisal, with the club also playing a role in developing young players.
