Kumasi Youth Talent FC - a newly established football club in the Ashanti Region was officially launched in a very beautiful event at the Otumfour Park at Dichemso - which is also the club’s training grounds for now.

The club was founded by former Ghanaian international Ibrahim Iddrisu, famously known as ‘Akonta’ — who featured for clubs like Al Ittihad Alexandria in Egypt, Finish side HJK Helsinki, St.Truiden and Union Saint-Gilloise, all in Belgium and others during his active playing days.

The club began scouting players early this year at the Kotei Astro Turf, under the tutelage of experienced gaffer Paa Kwasi Fabin and former Legon Cities assistant coach Ewa Ibrahim. Quality talents were unearthed and the final team has already been assembled after series of tryouts matches.

The team is expected to fly out to Luxembourg and Holland early next year for a training tour — where they will get to test their strengthens against some selected clubs from those countries. This will will help these young talents with experience and exposure and probably earn themselves a move to one of the teams and probably fulfill their European dream.

Speaking after the launch, founder Ibrahim ‘Akonta’ Iddrisu, clearly disclosed his main vision which is to help young footballers recognize their football talent or quality and ultimately play football to the highest level.
