Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey says Kurt Okraku has made enemies for himself, which is affecting efforts to fix Ghana football.
Lamptey’s comments come after the Black Stars suffered two defeats in their opening matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Ghana lost 2-0 to Ivory Coast in their first Group C game before surrendering a two-goal lead in a 4-2 defeat by The Gambia in Accra.
The results have left the Black Stars without a point from their opening two matches and facing an uphill task to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Lamptey, who played for Ghana at the 1992 Olympic Games and the 1996 AFCON, believes the challenges facing the national team are not only about what happens on the pitch.
"I love Kurt Okraku, but he has created enemies for himself, and the enemies want his downfall," Lamptey told 3Sports.
"Those around him are not helping him. Until Kurt realises that he has to change so many things, so many things will go against him. Everyone is complaining.
"When you create enemies for yourself, it affects the work that you are doing. That is what is happening to Ghana football now."
The GFA has come under increased criticism since Ghana failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, missing the tournament for the first time in more than two decades after finishing bottom of their qualifying group.
The Black Stars’ latest results have added to the pressure on the association, with calls for changes to both the administration and the national team's technical set-up.
The GFA is also looking for a new head coach after Carlos Queiroz left his position following Ghana's poor start to the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
Queiroz was appointed earlier this year and helped Ghana secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup before leaving his role.
A five-member committee has been set up to oversee the search for his replacement, with its report expected to be submitted to the Sports Ministry on Friday, 9 October.
Ghana will return to AFCON qualifying action against Somalia in October, with both matches scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars need maximum points from the two games to revive their campaign after losing their opening two matches.
