African football legend, Abedi Ayew Pele has stated with so much optimism that, Ghana will win the Africa Cup of Nations very soon to end the country's long standing hoodoo of not winning.

Despite being four-time champions, their last win was in 1982 in Libya of which Abedi Pele was part of the squad and was very young then.

The Black Stars last September, booked their spot to the 2023 AFCON which will be staged in Cote D'Ivoire early this year, marking their tenth straight qualification to the continent's biggest football competition since 2006.

Speaking in a recent interview, the three-time Africa's best player, feels Ghana hasn't been lucky for the past years having lost the last three finals they have been to but is very confident that jinx will be broken soon.

"Well, we will win. There will be our chances. We’ve been to finals three times and I think our chance will be maybe this time or in the next four years we will be there” he said.

Ghana have been housed in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will run from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
