The Germany U-20 national team have thumped on the Black Satellites of Ghana by an emphatic 5-0 earlier today in an international friendly.
German-born of Ghanaian parentage Ilyas Ansah, who plays for Bundesliga II side Paderborn O7, opened the scoring account in just two minutes from kickoff and serged on to hit a brace in the game.
Mainz O5's Nelson Weiper, Tom Bischof of TSG Hoffenheim also found the back of the net to hand the Die Mannschaft a four-goal lead at half time. Mert Kömür wrapped up with a goal in the last eleven minutes to complete the win.
This is the last preparatory friendly for coach Desmond Offei and his lads ahead of the 2024 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship.
The Black Satellites have been placed in Group A alongside hosts Togo, Niger and Benin.
They will kickstart their campaign against the Young Squirrels of Benin this Thursday, October 17, 2024.
