The Black Satellites have been eliminated from the group stages of the 2023 WAFU Zone B Boys U-20 Cup of Nations after a 1-1 draw against host nation Côte d'Ivoire in their final Group A game at the Champroux Stadium.

Ghana entered the match needing a victory to advance to the semifinals of the competition. However, the Black Satellites had a disappointing start to the tournament, squandering an early lead to draw 1-1 against Niger in their first game and suffering a 2-0 defeat to Burkina Faso in their second game.

In their final Group A encounter, Ghana failed to achieve the desired result, settling for a 1-1 draw with Côte d'Ivoire and subsequently missing out on a spot in the semifinals.

In the other Group A match, Burkina Faso defeated Niger 2-0, finishing at the top of the group with 9 points. Côte d'Ivoire secured second place with 4 points, while Ghana finished third with 2 points and Niger ended at the bottom with 1 point.

Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire will learn their semifinal opponents on Friday, June 14, when Benin takes on Togo in the only Group B match.
