Ghana's female U20 national team commenced their 2024 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualification campaign with a resounding away win over Guinea Bissau on Sunday evening.
The Black Princesses of Ghana managed to inflict a 3-0 home defeat on Guinea Bissau in the first leg tie of the qualifiers at the Stadio 24 De Setembro.
Coach Yussif Basigi's side enjoyed majority of the game possession in the first half and opened the scoring through Success Ameyaa before the break.
In-form Ampem Darkoa Ladies attacker Mary Amponsah doubled their lead with a fine strike in the 71st minute before substitute Mercy Attobrah completed their convincing away win at the Stadio 24 De Setembro in Bissau.
Ghana will face Guinea Bissau in the reverse fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium next week. The winner of the two-legged fixture will progress to the next round of the 2024 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifiers.
