Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has included Kelvin Nkrumah, the exciting teenage winger from Medeama SC, in his squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.

The 18-year-old has been rewarded for his standout performances in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, where his blistering pace, skillful dribbling, and fearless attacking style have made him one of the league’s brightest young talents.

Nkrumah joins a select group of home-based players traveling to Asia, linking up with his Medeama teammate Prince Owusu, who also earned a call-up for the doubleheader. The Black Stars will face Japan on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Toyota Stadium in Aichi, before taking on South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, as part of preparations ahead of Ghana’s fifth FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States in 2026.

Sources close to the national team reveal that Addo and his technical staff have been monitoring Nkrumah’s development for months and believe the teenager possesses the potential to make an immediate impact on the international stage.

The upcoming friendlies will provide Nkrumah with a platform to showcase his talents against two of Asia’s top teams while also offering Otto Addo an opportunity to assess his squad ahead of a busy international calendar next year.

At just 18, Nkrumah’s inclusion represents a significant milestone in his budding career and a proud moment for Medeama SC, a club increasingly recognized for producing top talent for the national team.
