The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Nana Oduro Sarfo, has disclosed that Laryea Kingston has not been relieved of his duties as head coach of the Black Starlets.

Oduro Sarfo was clarifying the issue of Laryea Kingston stating he will resign as trainer of Ghana's U17 team after they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Burkina Faso in the semis of the ongoing WAFU B-U-17 Championship at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Oduro Sarfo minimised the issue, revealing that although Kingston won't be in the dugout for the third and fourth-place game against Nigeria on Tuesday, he will be invited for a meeting to explain his decision.

"The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have not sacked Laryea Kingston. We have asked him to stay aside. We will call him after the tournament and find out about his decision," Oduro Sarfo told Asempa FM.

"He (Kingston) said he would resign so the Management Committee thought putting him there for the Nigeria game wouldn't be good for the team," he added.
