Major League Soccer side, D.C. United will take on the Ghana Week DC Select Side in the highly anticipated Capital City Africa Cup on Saturday, October 12, at Audi Field, Washington D.C.
The event is part of the Ghana Week celebrations, which promote Ghanaian tourism, culture, and sports within the DMV area.
The Ghana Week DC Select Side has been formed following visa challenges for Asante Kotoko players. As a result, additional players from other Ghana Premier League teams and top Ghanaian players based in the United States have been called up. The team will feature seven Asante Kotoko players, along with two from Division One side, Attram De Visser FC.
The match, scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, is a centerpiece of the week-long Ghana Week celebrations, which highlight the strong connections between Ghana, the United States, and the African diaspora.
