Otto Addo has been urged to create a stronger competitive culture within the Black Stars, with former Ghana Football Association communications director Ibrahim Sannie Daara insisting the national team is drifting without the competitive edge needed to succeed.
Ghana laboured to a 1-1 draw with Chad before scraping a 1-0 win over Mali in Accra, leaving questions over Addo’s selections and tactics.
Sannie Daara, now a CAF senior media officer, says too many players are underperforming without consequences.

“On a normal Black Stars day, some of the current players would not earn a call-up,” he told Asempa FM.
“There should be three players for every position to spark fierce competition. There must be consequences for poor performances.”
The Black Stars face decisive qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros next month as they look to seal a place at the 2026 World Cup.
