The Black Stars held their first training session last Monday afternoon in Accra ahead of the games coming up and coach Otto Addo said they will be taking it game after game in order to remain focus.

The German-born Ghanaian trainer announced the 24-man squad last week with most of the notable names included as they prepare for match-day 7 and 8 fixtures of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

All fourteen (14) players that have arrived so far took part in the first training at the Ohene Gyan Stadium with the rest expected in the next session as the team prepare to jet out of the country later today to Chad’s capital, N’Djamena.

In a brief interview, the former Borussia Dortmund trainer says they will be focusing on the upcoming game at the moment and will quickly shift attention to the next opponent right after in order to always have proper preparation both physically and mentally:

“Our focus now is on the Chad game, and I hope we can secure a win.”

The Black Stars will play away at Chad this Thursday, September 4, before they host Mali in four days time in the capital - in what will be a must win for the four-time African champions.

The Black Stars have five wins and draw from their opening six matches and are currently leading Group I with 15 points.
